When Emily Gordon’s husband was deployed to Afghanistan, she decided to send holiday cards of love, support, and encouragement to her husband and others serving overseas. With the help of some great friends from across the country, Emily’s call for letters to servicemen and women were answered with 10,000 + cards!

Before she knew it, Heartillery Group was born!

Based in Norwood, MA, Heartillery Group is a new non-profit that works with local charities, schools, and individuals to collect cards and toiletries for soldiers serving overseas. They have card collections several times during the year and are asking for a large amount of donations for their summer mailing.

Heartillery has drop-off centers in several states, hosts cards parties, and does a variety of fundraisers for charities during the year. The Theresa Academy of Performing Arts is working with Heartillery to provide one-of-a-kind artwork for postcards and messages of love for the soldiers. The students and faculty of TAPA are so proud of Emily and are looking forward to working with her for years to come!
