Another wonderful artist, Dan, had his art work featured in DownrightArt’s annual exhibition. The show was at Macari Vineyard in Mattituck, and at Long Island Aquarium. The organization celebrates World Down Syndrome Day and the spectacular individuals with Down Syndrome. The following excerpt is from the 2015 program. Congratulations to “Dan the Man” for another amazing art show!
“Dan is 41 years old and is know as ‘Dan the Artist’. When he was 27 years old, he moved into a group home run by ACDS in Freeport. He loves to paint many different kinds of pictures and even calls his bedroom his art studio. Dan started taking classes at TAPA which is run by The Theresa Foundation.
The Theresa Foundation and Alexander’s Angels, Inc. together have been instrumental in adding Dan to the list of great artists. This resulted in his being invited to show his work in at the DOWNrightART exhibitions at the Community Gallery of the Port Washington Lubrary in 2011, at 28on27 in NYC in 2012, and now at the Terra Cotta Art Gallery at the Castello Di Borghese Vineyard and Wineyard in Cutchogue, Long Island. ”
