Miss Tatum is one of TAPA’s newest teachers, having joined us in the fall of 2012.  Tatum is a dance therapist and works in a variety of facilities teaching dance, yoga, and focusing on dance therapy.  She grew up on Long Island and is a skilled dancer and performer herself!  She brings her passion for music and dance, as well as her calming presence to TAPA students and faculty.  Tatum is a regular teacher at Saturday respite, Sunday workshops, and Summer Camp.

 Tatum

In her own words:

TAPA has been somewhere that I always wished to work but the timing just wasn’t right for the first four years.  I wished to work at TAPA because of the connection I’ve always felt to the Russo family and their mission for the special needs community.  Once the stars aligned last fall, my wish came true and I was finally able to join the TAPA family.

Susan’s son Dante, Lindsay, and I were all a part of the theatre arts program at Holy Trinity High School so it was as if everything just came full circle.  I especially feel grateful because of the nature of my work at TAPA. Teaching yoga to the students allows me to see them grow and develop from week to week – not only in their movement ability but in their overall confidence.
